At its best, art provides a platform for discussing important issues in our contemporary world. It disrupts the routines of day-to-day existence and provokes new connections. My time in the studio offers me the chance to unplug from an often overwhelming world, and enter a state of making that is quite different than the demands of thinking and writing.

I’m currently investigating the fragile relationship between humans and nature using sculpture and painting. I begin by creating monoprints using acrylic paint then build up layers on top of these transferred images using hand-painting. My sculptures are composed of synthetic black rubber combined with metal stands or brackets. Through these works, I hope to encourage viewers to consider their own actions while interacting with plants, animals, the earth, and other humans.

Marion has exhibited in the UK, France, and Canada and has just completed her MA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts in London.
