Obscure Milieu 2022
Looking at the impact of our urban geography on the natural world, Flanagan brings snippets of nature into the Beaver Hall Gallery space in Toronto, Canada. Natural specimens are hung, impaled and manipulated into place in hopes the viewer will reflect on the fragile relationship between humans and nature. Suggesting new ways of thinking with regard to building materials and greening our cities, this display of materials research takes in a broad range of specialisms from geography to politics to biology.
